About Me
Well, English WAS my major when I studied in university. But at that time, English was no more than a tool for me, which I merely thought should really be used for real communication - who should I speak English with after I graduate?
I graduated from the Institute of International Relations and worked for Asiana Airlines (a Korean Airline company) for 3 years. Fortunately, I did find someone to speak English with, my boss, who is a Korean. As a result I didn’t throw English away totally.
Then I taught English in Changchun Taxation College for 5 years. I did speak English everyday to my students. And all my students liked me so much and some of them are still in touch with me now.
However, after 5 years’ teaching there, I felt I could not really improve myself only by accumulating my teaching experience. So, I went to UK to study TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) for my MA in the University of Sunderland. That was a period of time I always feel proud of because I never studied that hard. Finally I graduated with my MA with Distinction.
When I came back to China, I chose to work for a local publishing company as an editor and trainer. And you know what? Doing training is definitely a better way to share with more people what I’ve learned than doing teaching. And ever since the first time I did training to a group of English teachers, I fell in love with it.
Here I also want to thank the colleagues I worked with in Qinghua Foreign Language School for Children. It was they who helped me to understand the need of teachers and the power of good training; and it was then when I made up my mind to devote my life to this career.
Currently, I am working as a trainer and consultant for Pearson Longman, the largest education publisher all over the world. I am based in Beijing, China.
To be THE excellent trainer is my goal!!
