Much of NLP is about understanding oneself as a learner. Help children become aware of their strengths and their positive learning behaviors. Write out the names of all the children on individual slips of paper and put them in a box. Each day, choose one child that you will observe without letting him or her know. As you notice the child speaking English, being helpful, and being nice to other children, compliment the child in English: Tina, you are speaking English very well!

You are a good helper today.

Make sure you mention the child when you go to the Praise Spot! After a while, you might let the children know what you are doing and have them guess who the "special child" of the day is. |
