We All Wear Them! Lesson Plan

Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (10 minutes)
- Use the Dress Up Your Favourite Doll Warm-Up.
- Leave the dolls dressed. You will need them later.  
 
Presentation (15 minutes)
- Use the Clothes Flashcards to present new vocabulary. Ask the students to repeat each word after you. Drill pronunciation. Show the cards a few times until the students remember all the words.
 
Practice (25–30 minutes)
- Ask the students (in L1) if men and women wear the same clothes. They will answer 'no'. Divide the class in groups. Hand out the What Are They Wearing? Worksheet. Ask them to point and say what each person in the picture is wearing (in groups first).
- Get feedback.
Answer key:
The man is wearing trousers, a shirt and shoes.
The woman is wearing a skirt, a blouse and shoes.
The child is wearing jeans, a T-shirt, trainers and a cap.
 
Do the Who Is Who? Riddle.
Answer key:
1 Tom    2 Peter  3 Mark
 
Closure (5–10 minutes)
- Say I am wearing a jumper (or whatever is applicable). Point to a student and say He/She is wearing... (e.g. jeans). Stress I am / he/she is.
- Write She/He is wearing... on the board. Ask the students to describe what the dolls (dressed up at the beginning of the class) are wearing.
