Pearson Longman China ELT team hosted its first national conference in China for 'users' of our Young Learner courses last month (Nov 14-15th.)
50 principals from both teaching and research departments of 20 VIP schools through out China attended this conference in Shanghai.
The conference featured Hong Kong's locally published best seller of 18 years 'Longman Welcome to English' (LWTE). Building on its local and global successes, Pearson Longman China had begun promoting LWTE, to leading public schools in 2006 and now has more than 30,000 students in 30 leading schools across China.
The design of the 'user' conference was to offer practical support in providing demo. Classes by LWTE users as well as sessions addressing the wider issues of new course book adoptions from curriculum planning to teacher training.
The conference started with addresses from Jenny Sang, general manager of Pearson Education China, and Ms. Shi Huixin, the host school principle of Shanghai Fushan Foreign Language Primary School.
On day one 5 teachers gave demo classes to students from other schools. Local educational experts' gave feedback comments. 2 principals shared their experience in how they changed their curriculum and teacher training system to match LWTE. Participates exchange their experiences and discussed concerns on how to better use LWTE.
