Predictors of Successful Language Learning

There are many factors that contribute to a profile of a successful language learner, of which the three most-frequently mentioned psychological dimensions are motivation, language aptitude and personality. In my own opinion, motivation, which involves the attitudes and affective states that influence the degree of effort that learners make to learn an L2 (Ellis 1997: 75), is the most important among these three.
