The 2nd LWTE Conference
The 2nd LWTE users' conference – triples attendance!
November 19th and 20th - Pearson Longman China ELT team nearly tripled attendance figures for their 2nd national conference for users of LWTE (Longman Welcome To English - Young Learner Course from Hong Kong). 130 teachers from 25 key schools throughout China met to share 'user' experiences through presentations, demo classes, and discussions around the theme of "How to Teach Reading to Primary School Students."
Opening addresses were from Jenny Sang, Managing Director of Pearson Education China, and Ms. XiongJia, Principal of the host school, Guangzhou Huamei International School.
LOCAL TRENDS AND METHODOLOGY
"The Trend of Reading Teaching in China" was delivered by Professor LuZiwen from Beijing Institute of Central China Normal University. And Lilian Downey, our Asia ELT consultant gave a presentation entitled "Teaching Reading in Class."
DEMO LESSONS
Teachers from 5 schools gave Demo Lessons at different grades focusing on 'Reading' with LWTE. Evaluative feedback to the group as a whole was provided by Professor LuZiwen, Lilian, and Mr. LuZonggan, Teaching Researcher from Guangzhou Teaching Research Office.
